FIREFIGHTERS wearing breathing apparatus tackled a blaze in the bathroom of a property in Warrington during the early hours of today, Friday.

At 00:08 fire crews from Warrington and Stockton Heath attended the fire in a bathroom on the first floor of a home in Sharp Street, Warrington.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames. There was heavy smoke logging so a high-pressure fan was used to clear and ventilate the property.

A fire investigator concluded the cause to be accidental. Smoke alarms were activated and alerted the occupier to the fire in the bathroom.
