FIREWORKS set off on New Year’s Eve are believed to have started a bin fire at Howley, Warrington, during the early hours of this morning.

At 02:26 one crew from Birchwood was called out to Wellington Street, Howley.

Fireworks are believed to have been the cause of a fire in a bin. A hose reel jet was used by firefighters to put out the fire.

Earlier yesterday two crews from Penketh and Warrington were called to reports of a forklift truck fire at Omega on Skyline Drive.

An electrical fault is believed to have caused a fire in a forklift truck. A hose reel jet was used by firefighters to put out the smouldering fire and a thermal imaging camera used to check for hotspots.
