Casualty airlifted to hospital following serious collision on M56

ONE casualty was airlifted to hospital following a serious road traffic collision which resulted in the M56 being closed near Lymm, yesterday, Sunday.

At 12:28 fire crews from Birchwood, Lymm and Warrington were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the M56 west junctions 9 to 10, Bowdon interchange near Lymm.

One car was involved in a road traffic collision on the M56. There were two casualties who were treated by paramedics, assisted by firefighters. Helimed attended to transport one of the casualties to hospital.

Crews were in attendance for around one hour.
