Twelve wins in a row for buoyant Grappenhall

GRAPPENHALL’s remarkable winning streak continued as they made it 12 wins in a row.
The result kept them at the top of the RSK Cheshire County League division one and with seven games left to play, promotion to the EC Premier division is very much on the cards.
They comfortably beat Alvanley by eight wickets. Grappers bowling unit were superb in bowling Alvanley out for just 121, with Ed Barnes picking up three wickets and Sam Guest, Arran McCabe and Arthur Pennington bagging two wickets apiece.
In response Grappers knocked off the total in emphatic fashion as they cruised home with more than 20 overs to spare. Captain Pete Barnes hit 44 and Grant Hodnett hit another half century to see Grappers comfortably home
Grappenhall 2nd put on another excellent display in beating Upton by six wickets. They restricted Upton to just 145- 9 thanks to a superb all round bowling performance. James Knowles, Sunder Bhinder, Matt Titchard and Fameesh Azeez each claimed two wickets.
Grappers coasted home with 16 overs to spare for the loss of only four wickets, with Iain Wright scoring a superb 62 and captain Graeme Rowlands hitting 41 not out.
Grappenhall 3rd lost a tight game at Brooklands by two wickets.
Batting first they posted a below par 151, Zac Judge top-scoring with 45 and Lloyd Milligan chipping in with 34.
The young Grappers attack bowled superbly to keep the side in the game but in the end Brooklands just had too much.
Sixteen-year-old old James Knowles picked up three wickets and 14 year olds Olly Lloyd and Elliot Llewelyn claimed two wickets each.
Warrington picked up a useful three wicket victory over Hale Barns at Walton Lea.
Winning the toss they asked the visitors to batfirst and restricted them to a modest 151-9.
Umer Zeb took 3-38 and Aamir Ali 3-14 as the visitors struggled for runs from the outset. In fact their final total was something of a recovery as at one stage they were 84-7.
Warrington also struggled. Opener Richard Lyons hit a patient 55 not out but at one stage the score stood at a precarious 36-6 and it was only a blistering 57 from Bradley McIntosh, including two sixes and four fours that saved the day withfour balls remaining.
Warrington 2nd had a comfortable seven wicket victory at Hale Barns were the home team
elected to bat first.
They were bowled out for 142 with Paolo Manfredi taking 3-42 and Jonjo Fagan-Hall, Brad
Roden and Adam Lawton picking up two wickets each.
Charlie Jones hit 43 and James Lewis 51 not out as Warrington cruised to 145-3.
In the UKFast Cheshire League, Lymm Oughtrington Park went down by 79 runs at home
to Knutsford.
The visitors batted first and hit a challenging 293-7 after being put in.
Lymm batted well to reach 214 but never looked like winning.
Appleton lost by six wickets hosting Holmes Chapel,
Asked to bat first they were all out for 107 with AliSharif top scoring with 22.
The visitors reached their target for the loss of four wickets. Dave Sujith and Amir Aslam took two wickets each.
Appleton 2nd went down by seven wickets after winning the toss and electing to bat first at Barnton.
They were bowled out for 142 in the 38th over. Barnton took 32.3 overs to hit off the runs for the loss of three wickets.
Opener John Porter hit a defiant 67 as Appleton 3rd went down by six wickets at Brooklands.
He got little support from the rest of the batting line-up and the side were all out for 131.
Brooklands reached their target for the loss of four wickets, Alex Warham taking3-39.
Glazebury enjoyed a bit win at home to Malpas.
Batting first they were all out for 155, Sam Stanier top scoring with 34, Wayne Hargreaves hitting 29 , Ben Marote 33 and Kyle Keeble 22.
Malpas were rolled over for a meagre 55, Stanier following up his batting performance with 7-26.
Glazebury 2nd went down by eight wickets at Bowdon Vale after a disappointing batting performance.
Five ducks waddled back into the pavilion as Glazebury were bowled out for 86. Top scorer was opener Srinivas Vallabhaneni who hit 20 and the only other batsmen to reach double figures were Andrew Wilby, 15 and Gordon Chesworth, 16 not out.
The home side lost just two wickets as they coasted to victory in the 29th over.
