WARRINGTON-based travel agent, Barrhead Travel, has confirmed a return in demand to 2019 levels as people become more inclined to ‘Book Human’ by booking their holiday with a reputable travel agent.
As people get more confident about travelling again, data from Barrhead Travel and its parent company, Internova Travel Group, shows customers want to make sure all their future holidays are secure, ATOL protected and reasonably priced. Research found 81% of people will now consider booking their trips through travel experts, with people aged 18-29 most likely to change their booking habits and high street agents (92%).
When asked the reasons for using a travel expert for booking a holiday, the top answers were:
- To ensure holiday plans are financially protected (63%)
- To speak to an experienced professional (51%)
- Get recommendations from a travel expert (42%)
- Receive support on travel guidance post-pandemic (38%)
As the cost of living continues to rise, it comes as no surprise the research found financial security and value were the most important factors for travellers when booking a holiday. The top five most important things were:
- Price and value for money (89%)
- Guaranteed financial protection (65%)
- Flexible booking options (51%)
- Booking with a trusted business (44%)
- Getting first choice of accommodation and destination (43%)
With 84% of respondents saying holidays were very or extremely important to them, and 93% of people planning to take 1-3 holidays over the next 12 months, it is clear customers want to make sure they get it right.
