New COVID-19 infection rates continue to fall in Warrington and are again below the national average

NEW COVID-19 infection rates are continuing to fall in Warrington and are now again below the national rate, with seven new cases in the latest data from Public Health England.

No further COVID-19 deaths have been reported at Warrington & Halton Hospitals in the last 24 hours, although inpatient numbers have risen slightly, increasing from 21 to 23.

The 7 (5) new cases in the latest daily update from Public Health England, means the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington since the start of the pandemic is now 17,814 (17,807).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days were 45 (59) – 21.4 (28.1) per 100,000 population, showing a fall in new cases over a seven-day period for a fifth day. This compares to the national rate of 25.2 (27.2) per 100,000.
