Areas still under threat of further flooding with high river levels until Friday

RESIDENTS are still suffering the aftermath of the record floodwater levels across various parts of Warrington and with river levels remaining high until Friday there are still flooding risks across the town.

Cromwell Avenue remains closed as is St David’s Drive from Callands Road, while North Park Brook Road is flooded with cars stranded.
The following closes have severe flooding and had loss of power and heating with families sheltering upstairs last night.
Colwyn Close, Curzon Close, Tenby Close, Saundersfoot Close, Brecon Close, Hayescastle Close, were also flooded.
While power supplies are back on in Callands, parts off Orford near Northway and Densham Avenue are without power.
A spokesperson for Scottish Power Energy said: “It has been necessary for our engineers to carry out an emergency shutdown for safety in the WA2 (Orford) postcode area of Warrington following severe flooding in the area.
“This may affect the supply to your property. Our team will work to get your power back on as quickly and as safely as possible by 11pm when the floodwater subsides.
Meanwhile, river levels will remain high until Friday. Any spells of prolonged and heavy rain may lead to further flooding and disruption in parts of Warrington.

A574 Glazebury bound
Burford Lane, Lymm
Charter Avenue, Beswey
Chepstow Close
Clay Lane, Burtonwood
Cromwell Avenue (Sankey Brook water level is high, causing flooding to footpath under Cromwell Ave)
Dam Lane, Croft remains closed due to carriageway flooding (Cockshot Brook)
Densham Avenue, Longford – there is surface flooding to the road/footway and to a number of gardens, with risks to properties being flooded – temporary pumps are currently in situ, trying to pump as much water as possible out of the area
Fiddler’s Ferry Power Station
Gough Avenue, Longford
Grant Close, Old Hall
Haley Road carriageway, Burtonwood
Hawleys Lane remains closed at the bridge
Higham Avenue, Winwick
Hollins Lane, Winwick
Hood Lane, Sankey Bridges
Kenyon Lane
Liverpool Road
Longshaw Street
Lord Street, Croft
Orford Jubilee Hub, with flooding to the car park area
Reddish Lane, Heatley (Lymm) – with projected water levels at Bollington (Heatley) set to be significantly higher than previously experienced. Officers have door-knocked at all properties that could be affected and provided advice and guidance.
