WARRINGTON Youth Zone is calling on residents across the borough to nominate inspiring young people and the adults who make a difference to their lives, as preparations begin for the 2027 Warrington Youth Awards.
Taking place on Tuesday 26 January 2027 at Warrington Youth Zone, the annual awards will celebrate the achievements, dedication and positive contributions of young people from across Warrington, alongside adults whose volunteering and lifelong commitment have helped make the borough a better place to live for young people.
Warrington Youth Zone is encouraging families, schools, charities, sports clubs, youth organisations, businesses and members of the public to nominate people they believe deserve recognition.
Nominees do not need to be members of Warrington Youth Zone. The awards are open to young people from across the borough.
The awards are not just about celebrating exceptional talent or success. They are an opportunity to shine a light on achievements, dedication and positive contributions that might otherwise go unnoticed.
That could be a young person who has worked hard to improve their sporting or artistic skills, someone who has found the confidence to try something new, or a young person who has overcome personal challenges. It could also be a volunteer who gives their time to support young people, or an individual whose years of service have made a lasting difference to the Warrington community.
The 2027 Warrington Youth Awards will recognise achievements and contributions across ten categories:
• Young Creative Artist of the Year
• Young Sportsperson of the Year
• Nick Hopkinson Award – Young Entrepreneur of the Year
• Young Digital Innovator of the Year
• Young Fundraiser of the Year
• Rea Muir Award – Inspirational Young Person of the Year
• Young Volunteer of the Year
• Young Warringtonian of the Year
• Candice Roberts Award – Adult Volunteer of the Year
• Lifetime Achievement Award
Together, the categories celebrate everything from sporting and creative development to resilience, innovation and community spirit, as well as the adults whose voluntary service and enduring contributions help Warrington’s communities thrive.
Jamie Patterson, Head of Fundraising at Warrington Youth Zone said: “Warrington is full of incredible people with stories worth celebrating. These awards are not simply about recognising the most talented or successful individuals. We want to celebrate determination, personal growth, resilience and kindness, as well as the young people who dedicate themselves to making life better for others.
“Sometimes, the people who deserve recognition most are those who would never put themselves forward. They might be quietly supporting a friend, working hard to develop a new skill, volunteering their time, or overcoming challenges that others may not even see.
“You don’t need to be connected to Warrington Youth Zone to nominate someone. We want these awards to represent the whole of Warrington and celebrate the people who make our borough a better place to live.”
The awards follow the 2026 ceremony, which brought together more than 250 guests, including representatives from the local business community and civic dignitaries, to celebrate the achievements of Warrington’s young people.
Know someone who deserves recognition? Residents are encouraged to explore the award categories and submit a nomination to help Warrington Youth Zone celebrate the people making a positive difference across the borough. The nomination form will close at midnight on 30th November.
