Warrington-based theatre company Soup Productions is celebrating following the first-ever Northern Stage Awards, which recognise talent and show success within local amateur dramatics.
Soup walked away with 6 NSA Awards; including: Best Leading Male in a pantomime, Best Leading Female performance in a drama, Best Supporting Male in a pantomime, Best Enchanted Character in a Pantomime and the Next Generation Award. Soup also won the prestigious Best Drama Award for ‘Off Track’ – a play set at Warrington Central train station, which was well-attended and received critical acclaim for its commentary on modern themes. Soup also received a total 32 award nominations, including several for ‘The House, The Boys & The Trial’ – another drama based on Warrington history, originally commissioned as part of Warrington Pride.
Soup returned to performing following the pandemic and has spent the last few years raising its profile and showing sharing the importance of creating original stories within the community. We are proud of all of our members, creatives and audiences who have supported us. It feels amazing to receive such recognition and to see that we are making a difference.
Despite the wins, Soup Productions shows no signs of slowing down, with its forthcoming pantomime – ‘The Christmas Heist’ – on its way and then a fantastic variety of shows in 2027, celebrating Soup’s 10-year anniversary.
