Emergency crews alerted after person gets into difficulty in Sankey Brook

FIREFIGHTERS were called after reports of a person struggling in the water at Sankey Valley Park in Warrington.

Four fire engines were sent to the incident at Sankey Brook, near Normanby Close, shortly after 10.13 am on Monday, October 5.

Crews from Warrington, Birchwood, Lymm and Knutsford attended, along with the rescue boat from Warrington.
On arrival, firefighters found that the person had already managed to get out of the water.
Crews escorted them to waiting paramedics to be checked over.
No further details about the person’s condition have been released, although Cheshire Police have confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances.
The incident involved a significant emergency response, with firefighters deploying specialist water rescue resources because of concerns for a person’s safety in the brook.
