Warrington entrepreneur Keely Worsley has turned a desire for a happier working life into a rapidly growing home organisation business.
After years working in sales and business development, Keely decided it was time for a change.
“I reached a point where I was no longer happy in my job. The constant pressure of sales, targets and that Sunday evening dread made me realise I wanted to do something I genuinely enjoyed,” says Keely.
The idea for The Sorted Home had been quietly developing for some time. Keely had always enjoyed organising her own home and helping friends and family, while seeing professional organisers gaining popularity on social media and television made her realise there was a real demand for the service.
Having brought up three children while working full-time, Keely has always relied on being organised and disciplined with her time. Now she is using those skills to help others create calmer, more functional homes.
Just 4 months after launching The Sorted Home, Keely has already worked with around 25 clients, with the majority booking her to return for further sessions. She has also received referrals from existing clients, with customers sharing her work across social media.
“The biggest surprise has been the amount of support I’ve received,” says Keely. “So many people have told me what a fantastic idea they think it is, and that has been incredibly encouraging.”
For Keely, however, the most rewarding part isn’t simply seeing a tidy room. It is seeing the reaction on a client’s face when they see the transformation.
“The comment I hear most often is that they feel like a massive weight has been lifted. Some clients then feel confident enough to carry on decluttering other areas themselves. They go out and buy storage boxes, start organising and actually stick to the systems we’ve created together.”
Keely is also passionate about supporting people who may feel embarrassed or ashamed about the state of their home.
“I want people to know that there is absolutely no judgement. It’s my job. I’m there to help and support them on their journey, wherever they are starting from.”
The Sorted Home offers home organisation, wardrobe decluttering, storage solutions, paperwork and home office organisation, as well as moving and unpacking assistance across Warrington and surrounding areas.
With her diary continuing to fill with new and returning clients, Keely is now looking forward to growing her presence within the local community, building relationships with other small businesses and developing new services and ideas.
Keely is also looking to build relationships with local estate agents, offering a dedicated home-mover service to help make the moving process feel less overwhelming.
This can include helping homeowners declutter and organise before their property goes on the market, sorting through belongings and creating a home that is ready for viewings and the move itself. Once they have moved, Keely can then help with the other end of the process — unpacking boxes, organising belongings and creating practical systems in their new home, helping clients settle in without being left surrounded by boxes and clutter.
“It’s something I’m really excited about developing,” says Keely. “Moving home can be stressful enough without having to sort through years of belongings at the same time. I’d love to work alongside estate agents and support their clients from the preparation stage right through to settling into their new home.”
What started as a desire to escape the pressure of a career she no longer enjoyed has quickly become something much more meaningful.
“I genuinely love what I do. Knowing that I can walk into someone’s home and make such a difference to their everyday life is incredibly rewarding.”
