A brave 13-year-old Warrington boy is taking on a very personal challenge to raise money for St Rocco’s Hospice – shaving his head in support of his mum, who is currently receiving care from the hospice.
Henry has decided to lose his hair to show his love and support for his mum while also raising vital funds for the Warrington charity, which provides specialist care and support to local people and their families.
At just 13, Henry is showing incredible courage and compassion by turning what will undoubtedly be an emotional moment into an opportunity to help others.
Posting on his justgiving page Henry said: “I wish to raise money to help St Rocco’s Hospice by shaving my head. Eighteen months ago my mum was diagnosed with stage 4 Bowel cancer. She has had multiple operations which were unsuccessful and she is now on palliative treatment to prolong her life. In the last few months St Rocco’s has helped my mum to come to turns with this and will be more help in the future.
“With this in mind I want to raise money to help support them in continuing to provide the support and care to others like they have my mum.”
His head shave is already attracting support, with over £500 raised towards his £1,000 target but he is hoping that people across Warrington will get behind him and help him raise as much as possible for St Rocco’s.
