Dementia specialist care village, Belong Warrington, has been awarded the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Quality Hallmark Award for its exceptional standards of end-of-life care, achieving the prestigious platinum rating.
Belong Warrington, first accredited in 2018, has consistently demonstrated an outstanding approach, enabling colleagues at the village to achieve a perfect score in the recent assessment carried out by the GSF. Its report noted the village’s “deeply embedded culture of compassion and respect”, and vibrant community atmosphere as key components in helping to ensure people live well, and that their end of life journey is the best it can be. It also commended the quality of “dementia care” as being a “particular strength”.
A recent review on carehome.co.uk by the son of a person living at Belong Warrington remarked on his mother’s experience since entering the care village: “I can’t begin to do justice to the difference… the change in her demeanour and awareness has been remarkable, and I believe that is a testament to an elevation in care standards and a drastic improvement to her environment since moving.” Another person’s family member described the care village as, “almost like being at home” and their loved one “spent their last months in peace and comfort.”
Following the rigorous assessment, the GSF report went on to praise Belong Warrington’s performance in managing personalised care plans for residents’ final days, for example by identifying people’s wishes early on and acting upon them. This enables as many people as possible to receive the care and support they need during their end-of-life journey in a familiar place, with both them and the people they love being supported by colleagues they know well.

Care and nursing colleagues from Belong Warrington accepted their accolade at the GSF awards ceremony in Birmingham earlier this month.
