1330 (Warrington) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets will hold its annual Battle of Britain Service of Remembrance, Praise and Thanksgiving at St Elphin’s Parish Church on Sunday 13 September.
The service will begin at 3.00pm, with guests and members of the public asked to arrive from 2.30pm.
Cadets and staff from 1330 Squadron will be joined by members of the local community to remember those who served during the Battle of Britain and to pay tribute to the courage, dedication and sacrifice of those who defended Britain’s skies in 1940.
The service will include readings, musical performances and acts of remembrance, with Warrington Brass Band also taking part.
The Battle of Britain remains one of the defining moments in the history of the Royal Air Force. During the summer and autumn of 1940, RAF aircrew and ground personnel fought to defend Britain against the Luftwaffe and prevent Germany from securing air superiority over the country.
For 1330 Squadron, the annual service provides an important opportunity for today’s generation of cadets to learn about that history, honour those who served and continue the traditions of remembrance and service within the RAF family.
Members of the public are warmly invited to attend and join the Squadron in remembering the bravery and sacrifice of those who defended our skies and our nation.
The service takes place at St Elphin’s Parish Church, Warrington, on Sunday 13 September 2026 at 3.00pm, with attendees encouraged to arrive by 2.30pm.
