The Living Well Bus will be making its final stops from this round of visits to Warrington in the coming weeks – and residents who are due or overdue for their cervical screening are encouraged to get on board.
Delivered by Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, the service is designed to make cervical screening more accessible, offering tests in a private and welcoming environment with no appointment needed.
The remaining sessions will take place at the Living Well Hub, 26-30 Horsemarket Street, WA1 1XL, on:
- Thursday 30 July 2026, 10:30am to 4pm
- Tuesday 1 September 2026, 10:30am to 4pm
Cervical screening checks the health of the cervix and looks for certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV) that can cause changes to cervical cells. Finding and treating these changes early helps prevent cervical cancer.
The screening itself takes less than five minutes, with most visits lasting around 10 minutes in total. All screenings are carried out by trained female staff, visitors are welcome to bring someone for support, and the bus is fully accessible for wheelchair users.
Cervical screening is offered to women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64 every five years and plays an important role in preventing cervical cancer and saving lives.
Please note that these sessions are dedicated to cervical screening only, and the usual health checks provided by the Living Well Bus will not be available.
Anyone unable to attend the Living Well Bus can book a cervical screening appointment through their GP practice or attend a local sexual health service.
