Gulliver’s World is celebrating a significant rise in demand for its residential experiences after welcoming around 2,500 pupils from 62 schools during the 2025/26 academic year.
The Warrington theme park resort has seen residential bookings increase by 67 per cent compared with the previous academic year, when around 1,500 pupils from 36 schools enjoyed overnight stays. The growing popularity of Gulliver’s residential offer reflects increasing demand from schools seeking engaging trips that combine outdoor learning, team-building activities and memorable adventures in a safe and inclusive environment.
The latest group were sixty pupils from Locking Stumps Community Primary School in Warrington who recently enjoyed a fun-packed residential stay.
Two groups of 30 children enjoyed overnight stays at the theme park and had great fun doing a host of activities, including bushcraft, den building, archery, safari golf, team building, orienteering on scooters – and, of course, toasting marshmallows!
Jamie Vermiglio is headteacher at Locking Stumps in Warrington. He said: “This was our first visit as a school to Gulliver’s World, and everyone had a wonderful time. The activities were ideal for the children, and being able to use the theme park rides too was fantastic.
“Being together as a group was ideal and the focused timetable was superb, but we could also be flexible to meet the needs of individuals within the group. We stayed in Gully’s House and the accommodation was excellent – inclusive, clean and organised.”

Gulliver’s World opened in 1989, the second of four Gulliver’s theme park resorts to open around the country.
The resort has more than 50 rides, attractions, shows and activities, including the Pirate Ship, Desperado Drop, Antelope Wooden Coaster, and Togo Tower, along with some incredible animatronic dinosaurs.
The Gulliver’s Gears car-themed area has two fun rides – the Grand Prix Racer rollercoaster, and Overdrive, a 360-degree thrill and one of the park’s most daring rides.
The themed accommodation offers a great choice, with the onsite hotel featuring Unicorn, Cowboy, Sweetie and Pirate-themed rooms, along with themed dens, lodges and tipis in Wilderness Wharf.
