AN incredible 1041 children, young people, parents and carers came together to celebrate Warrington Youth Zone’s BIG Summer Re-Launch and 4th Birthday Party, making it one of the charity’s most successful free community events to date.
Despite soaring temperatures of 30°C, families from across Warrington enjoyed an action-packed day of free activities, live entertainment, delicious food and birthday celebrations as the Youth Zone opened its doors to the whole of Warrington and beyond, with visitors flooding in from all over Cheshire on Saturday.
From scaling the climbing wall and taking part in sports sessions to music, dance, arts and crafts, gardening, sprinkler fun, baking, sensory activities, gaming and face painting, every area of the Youth Zone was buzzing with activity throughout the day. Younger visitors also enjoyed Babyzone, and soft play, ensuring there was something for every age.
The event marked not only Warrington Youth Zone’s fourth birthday but also celebrated the exciting transformation of its facilities, giving families the opportunity to explore refreshed spaces and discover everything the charity has to offer. The event also marked the official launch of two exciting new spaces – the Makers Zone, where young people can get hands-on with creative projects, and the Darts Zone, providing more opportunities to enjoy some fun, and friendly competition in a supportive environment.
One of the highlights of the day was the fantastic atmosphere created by hundreds of families enjoying the facilities together, with laughter, music and celebration filling the building for the full six-hour duration.

Dave McNicholl, CEO of Warrington Youth Zone, said: “What an incredible day! To welcome more than 1000 people through our doors, especially on one of the hottest days of the year, was simply amazing.
“Our BIG Summer 4th Birthday event was all about reconnecting with our community and showing families everything Warrington Youth Zone has to offer. Seeing so many children and young people trying new activities, making friends and creating memories with their families was exactly what the day was all about.
“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came along, as well as our dedicated staff, volunteers and supporters who worked tirelessly to make the event such a success. The atmosphere throughout the day was absolutely fantastic.
“We would like all children and young people from across Warrington to know that the Youth Zone is there for them and to pop in and join up.”
The event showcased the wide range of opportunities available for young people aged 7 to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs, as well as the charity’s growing Babyzone provision for younger children and their families.
With many visitors experiencing the Youth Zone for the first time, the day highlighted the vital role the charity continues to play in supporting thousands of local young people each year through positive activities, trusted relationships and a safe place to belong.
As Warrington Youth Zone enters its fifth year, the overwhelming success of this fabulous birthday event demonstrates the continued demand for high-quality youth provision and the incredible support the charity receives from its local community.
