WARRINGTON’S favourite charity – St Rocco’s Hospice – has received a funding boost of £1,500 from homebuilder Redrow.
The donation, made via the Barratt Redrow Foundation, will help the hospice to continue to provide specialist palliative and end of life care for adults living with life-limiting illnesses.
The hospice, based in Bewsey, not only provides inpatient care but also counselling, therapies, at home care and bereavement support for families.
Marking its fifth anniversary this year, the Barratt Redrow Foundation has contributed £20 million to charities and community initiatives since its establishment in 2021. Over the past five years, the foundation has supported more than 2,000 charitable organisations, helping to positively impact the lives of an estimated 100,000 people each year.
Marie Egerton, director of commercial development at St Rocco’s Hospice said: “Over our 40 years we have supported thousands of patients and families in Warrington and having the support from the Barratt Redrow Foundation is a fantastic financial resource to St. Rocco’s Hospice when our Warrington Community need us more than ever.
“This donation will go directly to support end of life care for patients and their loved ones when they are dealing with a life limiting illness. From everyone at St. Rocco’s, and more importantly our community, thank you from us all.”
Amanda Jones, head of sales at Redrow NW, said: “We support the communities in which we are building. St. Rocco’s Hospice and their dedicated team provide support to local people during a time of need. We’re proud to support the incredible work they do.”
Redrow is currently building at nearby Daresbury Garden Village, with 800 properties set across 120 acres of land, with open spaces, green corridors and areas for play. It’s also due to launch a new development in nearby Grappenhall Heys this summer.
