THE first ever meeting of a prostate cancer support group for the Warrington area, Warrington Area Prostate Cancer Alliance, has been described as a great success by organisers.
The meeting took place on Monday, 1st June at Alford Sports & Social Club, Manchester Road, Warrington, from 6:30-8:30 pm.
Paul Whittaker and Tony Collier, who started the group and are both living with advanced prostate cancer, were thrilled that 10 men in total attended the inaugural meeting.
After introducing themselves and outlining where they were on their own personal journeys, the conversation widened to talk about all aspects of living with prostate cancer and became a very open and supportive peer-to-peer conversation in a very safe and friendly space.
The group will meet on the first Monday of every month from 6:30-8:30 pm at the same venue.
