Eleven casualties treated by paramedics following multi-vehicle collision on M6

ELEVEN casualties were treated by paramedics following a multi-vehicle collision on the M6 near Birchwood, Warrington, last night (Saturday).

At 20:44 emergency services including fire crews from Lymm and Warrington attended reports of a collision on the M6 North slip road at junction 21A, involving four vehicles.

Eleven casualties were assessed by ambulance crews, with support from firefighters, police, and national highways staff.

As a result of the collision, the M6 northbound exit slip road at junction 21A to the M62 westbound was closed.
After making the scene safe, firefighters left and the road began to reopen at around 9:45pm.
