AN alleged shoplifter has been barred from all B&M Stores in Warrington following an incident at Golden Square, Warrington, yesterday.
Warrington Town Centre Beat officers were conducting both plain and high-visibility patrols around the Town Centre when a plain clothes officers detained and arrested a male who had just shoplifted from B&M Store in Golden Square Shopping Centre. Not content with alleged shoplifting the male decided to cause as scene, this led to him being further arrested for public order offences.
Cheshire Police today confirmed that at around 1.40pm on Tuesday 19 May, police arrested a 42-year-old man on suspicion of shoplifting following an incident at B&M.
Colin Houghton, of Winmarleigh Street, Warrington, has since been charged with attempt theft from shop and Use threatening / abusive words / behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
Houghton has been bailed and is set to appear at Warrington Magistrates Court on Monday 15 June.
He has conditions not to enter any B&M Stores in Warrington.
