Village pharmacy to close following rent rise

1

LYMM Pharmacy is to close permanently from May 22 – some three years after it took over the village centre site from Lloyds Pharmacy.

The closure will leave the village with just one pharmacy.

A notice in the shop states all services will be transferred across the road to The Cross Pharmacy – formerly Boots. There will no need for customers to take any action.
The notice states the closure is necessary because the shop is no longer viable because of significant increases in rent and service charges introduced by the landlord.
A number of shops have either closed or changed hands in Lymm recent times with villagers blaming high rents or too many residents travelling to Warrington, Altrincham or even Knutsford to do their shopping.

  1. Will the old Boots now open Saturday?
I honestly thought it would be that one which closed as it always looks so sparsly stocked.
