GRAPPENHALL picked up their first Cheshire County League victory of the season with a seven wicket win at Ashley.
The home side batted first and were restricted to 209-6, Joshua Hayes taking 2-29 and Jason Batson 2-31.
Grappers lost an early wicket and at 102-3 the match was anybody’s.
But then Daniel Adkins, 75 not out and Batson, 58 not out came together and took the side to victory.
It was by far the most assured performance by Grappers so far this term.
Grappenhall 2nd also won playing at home against the Ashley second string.
Grappers batted first and declared on 237-6, opener Cassius Birch setting the pace with an unbeaten 116 and and Zach Pomfret hitting 65.
Ashley were tumbled out for 73, Ethan Marrable-Wright taking 4-19.
Warrington’s match at Mobberely was abandoned but the 2nd XI won by 88 runs at home to Haslington, Surender Ailuri hit hit 101 not out in Warrington’s winning total of 268-7 and Anees Umar hitting 70.
The same pair took three wickets each as Haslington were dismissed for 180.
Warrington 3rd won by 40 runs at Barrow and the 4th XI won by 102 runs hosting Mere Europa.
Lymm Oughtrington Park lost by six wickets at Stockport Trinity.
Batting first, they were all out for 147 despite a promising opening stand of 76 between Antonnell Atwekk, 56 and Adam McVey, 22.
After that the batting disappointed and although the bowlers performed tidily they were only able to capture four wickets.
Lymm 2nd won by 37 runs at Maritime, and Lymm 4th went down by 46 runs at Winnington Park.
Appleton won b y 126 runs hosting Hawk Green, batting first and hitting a challenging 192-8.
Top scorer was Wesley Jenkins with 45, but it was a good all round batting performance.
Hawk Green could onlyh muster 66, Amir Aslam taking 5-12 in a devastating spell of 4.5 overs and Aamir Akash picking up 3-17.
Appl,eton 2nd won by three wickets at Oxton but the 3rd and 4th teams both lost.
Glazebury lost by four wickets at home to Frodsham.
Batting first they were dismissed for 115 despite a battling 47 not out from Wayne Hargreaves.
Glazebury 2nd lost by 116 runs at Frodsham.
