W Howard Group, a Founder Patron of Warrington Youth Zone, visited the Youth Zone to deliver an engaging Level Up! employability session, providing local young people with valuable insight into the world of work.
The Level Up! programme, delivered at Warrington Youth Zone, is designed to equip young people with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to explore different career paths and better understand the opportunities available within various industries. Companies that take part are tasked with creating an interactive task which would take place within their company.
During the session, John Critchley, Head of E-Commerce and Kayleigh Hemingway, HR Manager from W Howard Group, facilitated a real-life, hands-on activity that gave participants a practical understanding of their operations. Young people were tasked with picking and sorting orders of MDF, mirroring the processes carried out at the company’s site in Glazebury. The activity offered an interactive and immersive experience, helping attendees to develop teamwork, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
Alice Evans, Employability Lead at Warrington Youth Zone, said: Both Kayleigh and John were brilliant at speaking with the young people about the work that W Howard do, and most importantly, bringing that work to life! We are so glad W Howard could be part of the day, and we look forward to working with them again in our Employability offer.
Kayleigh Hemingway, HR Manager at W Howard Group, who led the session, said:
“Our employability session at Warrington Youth Zone was great and gave us the opportunity to give young people an insight into working life, career options and skills that can be developed through employment. The employability sessions give young people the chance to explore their potential and build confidence and at W.Howard, we are proud to help support and empower the next generation!”
Opportunities like this play a vital role in empowering young people to make informed decisions about their future careers, while broadening their awareness of the pathways available to them. Warrington Youth Zone is proud to collaborate with businesses across the region to deliver meaningful experiences that inspire and prepare the next generation.
