OFFICERS in Warrington are appealing for information following a serious assault involving a stabbing incident in the Greenings Court area of town.
On Friday 1 May, officers in Warrington responded to reports that a serious assault had occurred at around 11 pm in the Greenings Court area of the town following a verbal altercation.
A 44-year-old man received a stab wound to his lower torso and was subsequently taken to Aintree Hospital for further treatment.
He has since been discharged and is recovering at home; his injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
Officers are now appealing to anyone with any information to come forward.
Detective Constable Elodie Parkinson said: “No arrests have been made at this time and we are appealing to anyone with any information to get in touch.
“Officers are particularly keen to speak to a man and a woman who were at the scene of the incident, as it is believed they hold vital information.
“We also believe the driver of a Volkswagen passed the scene and may have witnessed the incident or could have captured it on dashcam footage, so I would encourage any motorists who may have been in the area at the time to please review any dashcams they may have.”
