ORFORD dad Tom Dore is taking on an incredible challenge to thank the Warrington hospital team who helped save his baby daughter’s life.
During May, sports coach Tom Dore will run seven marathons in seven days to support the Neonatal Team at Warrington Hospital, who saved his daughter Taiya’s life.
Born in September 2024, Taiya needed urgent care and spent two weeks in the Neontal unit, where she received life-saving treatment and unwavering support.
Tom is now pushing himself to the limit to say thank you and help other families receive the same amazing care.
Tom has already raised more than £4,000 of his £7,000 target thanks to generous donations.

He said: “My little girl Taiya was born on September 12th 2024, upon arrival and just moments into the world it was feared Taiya was battling a serious infection which was later confirmed to be Meningitis. There’s not enough words to emphasise the fear and dread hearing the wards doctor tell us the next 48 hours will be important and potentially life or death.
“Taiya was in the Neonatal ward for two weeks before we were allowed to take her home. Whilst they were easily the hardest two weeks of our lives it really opened our eyes to how incredibly lucky we were to have the care and support from the nurses on the Neonatal ward, they saved Taiya’s life and also kept myself and Talisa going when we were really struggling. The level of care was genuinely inspiring and I’m hoping by doing this challenge it can raise some funds to help support the ward but also to shine a light on how lucky we are to have these amazing people to take care of our children.”
