Investigation underway following tragic death on tracks near Penketh for Sankey Station

BRITISH Transport Police have sadly confirmed the death of a person on the tracks near Sankey for Penketh Railway Station at Warrington last night.

An investigation has now been launched following the tragic death of the person, believed to be a 17-year-old boy.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Sankey for Penketh railway station at 10.38pm on Tuesday, April 21, following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended; however, sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances leading up to their death.”
