Flats evacuated as firefighters tackle kitchen blaze at Birchwood

NEARBY flats were evacuated as a precaution as firefighters tackled a kitchen blaze at Birchwood, Warrington.

At 17:19, yesterday, Tuesday, two crews from Birchwood and Warrington atended reports of a fire at a groundfloor flat on Violet Close, Birchwood.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish a kitchen fire inside a ground floor flat. Nearby flats were evacuated as a precaution while smoke was cleared from the property.
There was no reports of any injuries.
