LATCHFORD Albion Giants recorded their fourth victory in a row with a 38-10 victory over Saddleworth Rangers A, and in doing so, moved into second place in the NWML second division.
Albion were always in control and opened up a sixteen-point lead through tries from River Cole (2) and Kyal Melvin, with Theo Gabbott adding two conversions.
Credit to the visitors who fought their way back into the game and were rewarded with an unconverted try just ahead of half-time.
As with the first half, the hosts started strongly and opened the scoring with 17-year-old Fin Hill marking his debut with a well-taken try, Gabbott adding the extras.
Saddleworth hit back with a converted try but any thoughts of a comeback were quickly extinguished when Ashton Lewis soon crossed out wide.
Further tries were added by captain Ryan Edwards and Riley Cole, with Gabbott converting both as the hosts pulled away for a comprehensive victory.
This Saturday sees the Giants on the road when they travel to Hindley Stags, kick off 2.30 pm.
