SOME people in Warrington may recognise Marti Wilde from the doors of popular town centre nightclubs—but what many might not realise is that he’s also an emerging singer-songwriter.
That’s set to change with the release of his debut 11-track album Magik, which dropped on March 27th, following his first single Hey Foolish released on August 1st, 2025.
Drawing inspiration from the early acoustic sounds of Oasis and The Verve, Marti’s music blends stripped-back guitar work with a vocal style reminiscent of the gravelly tones of Chris Rea and Leonard Cohen. His songwriting is deeply personal, with lyrics that come from a heartfelt place, giving the album an authentic and reflective feel.
While much of Magik leans into acoustic arrangements, there are moments of energy and uplift in tracks such as Hopeless Case and Do It Again, showing Marti’s range and versatility as an artist.
The album is very much a Warrington collaboration. Supporting Marti are Joe Hatton on lead guitar and drums, and Andy Fairnington on bass—both co-owners of Big Pink Studios on Slutchers Lane. Together, they’ve played a key role in shaping and producing the record to a high standard.
Magik is now available to stream on Spotify. Fans can also catch Marti performing a live acoustic set at Peggy McCools on Thursday, April 16th, with tickets priced at £5 on the door.
