Warrington Youth Zone has announced a new two-year partnership with Novelis, the world leader in aluminium rolling and recycling.
Novelis, a company based on Thelwall Lane in Warrington, has agreed to support the Youth Zone with generous financial donations, as well as active involvement in events, volunteering opportunities, and participation in the Youth Zone’s Employability programme.
The partnership will help Warrington Youth Zone continue to provide vital opportunities for thousands of young people, offering a safe space where they can learn new skills, build confidence and explore future careers in recycling.
As part of the collaboration, Novelis colleagues will engage directly with young people through volunteering and by sharing insights into the wide range of careers available. Their involvement in the Youth Zone’s Employability programme will give members valuable exposure to real life careers and industry knowledge.
Jamie Paterson, Head of Fundraising at Warrington Youth Zone, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be welcoming Novelis as one of our newest partners. Having the support of such a globally recognised organisation, with strong local roots in Warrington, is incredibly valuable to us and to our young people. Not only will their financial support help sustain our programmes, but their willingness to get involved through volunteering and employability initiatives will provide young people with inspiring insights into future career opportunities. We’re really looking forward to working together and building a meaningful partnership that benefits the whole community.”
Allan Sweeney, Plant Manager at Novelis Latchford, added “We are incredibly proud to partner with Warrington Youth Zone for the next two years. At Novelis, our purpose is to support the communities where our employees live and work. By investing in the Youth Zone’s employability programme, we are helping local young people develop the real-world skills they need to thrive. Our team at the Latchford plant is especially excited to get involved through volunteering and to see first-hand the positive impact this partnership will have across Warrington”.
Warrington Youth Zone supports thousands of young people aged 7–19 (and up to 25 for those with additional needs) each year, providing access to more than 20 activities including sports, creative arts, mentoring and career support.
This new partnership highlights a shared commitment between Warrington Youth Zone and Novelis to invest in the next generation and create brighter futures for the young people of Warrington.
