ALL lanes of the M56 near Daresbury, Warrington, have now reopened following an earlier collision, which resulted in 2 of 3 lanes being closed.
Long delays of an hour were being reported following the collision, which followed on from an earlier collision on the M62 at Birchwood earlier this morning.
Thre fire crews attended at the M56 collision. No persons were trapped, and the road was closed while the incident was dealt with.
Firefighters and police officers provided initial first aid to two casualties, who were then handed over to the care of paramedics and taken to hospital for further treatment.
Once the incident was brought under control, two lanes were reopened before firefighters left the scene, which was handed over to the police and National Highways.
With various road works ongoing across Warrington, including Winwick Road and Knutsford Road, motorists found lengthy delays on their commutes across Warrington.
