WARRINGTON Borough Council has responded to ongoing concerns regarding flooding issues in the town caused by blocked gullies.
After recent heavy rain, a reader posted on social media, flooding on Orford Lane, caused by leaves blocking a gully.
The council say they hadn’t received any reports of blocked gullies in the area, however a member of the team will be out to clear the gully by the end of the week.
A Warrington Borough Council spokesperson said: “We undertake a regular programme of maintenance to clear and clean all highway gullies, with maintenance work having took place on Orford Road earlier this month.”
“When specific issues are reported to us, we investigate and take appropriate action. If the blocked drain or gully is causing flooding which is obstructing a road, you can report this on our website or call us on 01925 443322, so that we can deal with this as soon as possible.”
