HIGHWAY planners have confirmed a new one-way system and a weight limit for Peace Drive, Warrington, next to the proposed new SEND facility at the Peace Centre.
The restrictions are scheduled to come into force, tomorrow, Wednesday, October 22nd. It follows on from new traffic calming measures to ensure the safety of those using the SEND facility.
THE BOROUGH OF WARRINGTON (PEACE DRIVE) (ONE WAY & 7.5T WEIGHT LIMIT) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Council made an order under Sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers on 22nd October 2025. The effect of which is as follows: –
1. To prohibit any Motor Vehicle from proceeding along Peace Drive (From a point 78 metres east of its junction with Cromwell Avenue) in any direction other than easterly, then southerly, then north westerly.
2. To prohibit any vehicle exceeding 7.5 tonnes from proceeding along Peace Drive for its entire length, except for the purpose of access.
The Order will be effective from 3rd November 2025.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks from 22nd October 2025, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
