AN appeal for information has been launched by a local councillor following an arson attack on a park at Lymm, Warrington, last night, Saturday.
The incident at Ridgway Grundy Park in the village, off Whitbarrow Road, is believed to have involved teenage boys and involved an arson attack on park equipment.
Cllr. Graham Gowland discovered the fires and immediately contacted the fire service.
Cllr Gowland expressed concern that this may be part of a series of fires, saying: “I’ve been contacted by a number of residents concerned about a group of teenage boys who have discovered how to use aerosol cans as flame throwers and appear to have caused a number of fires around the village.
“I understand the police are investigating, but I would urge parents to have a discussion with their children. It’s fortunate so far there have been no injuries, but it’s only a matter of time before someone is hurt or more serious damage is done.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101.
