A fundraising appeal has been launched for life-saving surgery for a little kitten rescued from Penketh, Warrington.
Rescue kitten Eden was just six weeks old when he was rescued by Leanne O’Neil after suffering severe head and eye trauma at his previous home.
Taking up his story, Leanne said: “I got him to the vets and after a few nights, he was allowed back home, which no one thought would have happened with how poorly he was.
“He’s now 5 months old and he was found limp last week and lifeless in our home. He was rushed to the vets, where they managed to help us yet again! But we’ve been told he now needs life-saving surgery for a liver shunt.
“This has been estimated to start at around £4,000. As a single mum, I just don’t have that type of money spare, unfortunately, so I’ve started a go-fund me page to potentially help us raise the money to save his life.”
Leanne added: “Eden is half the size he should be for his age already and is struggling to gain weight. Other than this, he is a very healthy, happy little cat and can go on to live a long and loving life, if we get the money for this treatment.
“We are doing absolutely everything and have paid out so much and this is a massive blow. Eden is a very big part of our lives, and we are trying everything to be able to give him the life he deserves.
“We are unaware if he was born with the shunt, or, it was caused due to his previous home, where I rescued him from.
“Eden is still managing to do ok on meds and a special diet, but he has started to show some signs of being confused.
“He has started to sit looking at the wall again and just meowing and just seems to be slowing down in general.
He is such a loving little boy, he loves to come for cuddles and give head nudges – I’m also convinced he loves a selfie!
