THERE was plenty of fun and laughter at Westvale House care home, Old Hall, Warrington when one of its residents celebrated her 100th birthday.
Ada Burgess was joined by staff, relatives, friends and other residents as she received a telegram from the Queen in recognition of her landmark birthday
. A champagne reception was held at the home and guests enjoyed a special birthday cake made by the home’s chef.
Among relatives attending were Ada’s niece’s, Lynda and Jackie, who played host for the afternoon to the guests.
They played Ada a personalised Video of her favourite singer, Daniel O Donnell wishing her a very happy 100th birthday. Ada was over the moon that Daniel had personally wished her a happy birthday.
Local Singer Jan Faulkner arrived to sing songs by Daniel O Donnell that Ada loved.
Aimee Dyas, activities co-ordinator at Westvale House said: “We’re privileged to be celebrating a truly remarkable woman as she reaches this amazing milestone. Ada is such a lovely resident who always has an interesting tale to tell,”
