VARIOUS road closures are set to start in the Penketh and Cuerdley areas of Warrington for up to nine weeks for surfacing works, starting later this month.
The closures will take place between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, starting from October 27th and will also include temporary footway closures.
Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce the following:
Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: Entire lengths of road: Hillside Grove; Lynton Close; Radlett Close; Walsingham Road; Holly Road; Kirkwall Drive; Larch Avenue; Norton Avenue; Sandy Lane; Part lengths of road: Arlington Drive from No. 25 to the end at No. 30; Chapel Road from the junction with Warrington Road to the junction with Bramble Close; Edward Road from the junction with Henderson Close to the end of the road; Manston Road from No. 44 to the end at No. 60; Neville Crescent from No. 24 to No. 60; Oak Road from the junction with Hall Nook to the junction with Oakmere Drive; Station Road from the junction with Chapel Road to the junction with Walkers Lane.
Clearway: Farnworth Road from No. 58 to No. 37A.
The Order will be effective from 27th October 2025 for 9 weeks, between 8:30am and 5:30pm, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative routes will be as follows: Walsingham Road via Meeting Lane, Winmill Lane, St. Alban Road and vice versa; Chapel Road via Warrington Road, Tannery Lane, Station Road and vice versa; Holly Road via Walsingham Road, Meeting Lane, Windmill Lane and vice versa; Kirkwall Drive via Hamble Drive, Manston Road, Hall Nook, Warrington Road, Inglewood Road, Ash Road, Maple Crescent, Thorn Close and vice versa; Larch Avenue via Meeting Lane, Windmill Lane, Friars Avenue, Walton Avenue and vice versa; Norton Avenue via Kenyon Lane, Meeting Lane, Larch Avenue and vice versa; Oak Road via Hall Nook, Manston Road, Hamble Drive, Kirkwall Drive, Thorn Close, Maple Crescent and vice versa; Sandy Lane via Heath Road, Warrington Road and vice versa; Station Road via Chapel Road, Warrington Road, Tannery Lane and vice versa.
The restrictions are required for road and/or footway surfacing.
