Police memories visit to care home

Cheshire Grange Care Home in Lymm was honoured to welcome Salford Police – GMP who had teamed up with their partners in Cheshire Police to bring the Police Panda Hillman Imp memories presentation to their residents.

This was an especially poignant visit for one particular resident who was an ex-GMP officer and had served in Altrincham.
Residents enjoyed a short film taking them on a reminiscence journey to yesteryear with old adverts and browsed through folders of pre decimal currency, Berni Inn menus and price lists showing the cost of living in the 1960s.
The residents enjoyed comparing the Hillman Imp to the modern-day panda car, sitting in them both and obviously setting the sirens off!!!

General Manager at Cheshire Grange Care Home, Dawn Holsgrove Smith said: “We would like to extend our thanks to Paul Fairclough for organising this in conjunction with Salford Police – GMP & Cheshire Police. It was lovely to have this visit. The residents were delighted and it broke back many memories, one resident was overheard to say ‘well it won’t be the first time I’ve been brought home in a police car’ , we are saving that story for another day!’
