ENGINEERS and support staff from Cadent visited their military counterparts at 75 Engineer Regiment in Warrington this week, in a show of solidarity and support ahead of Armed Forces Day, today, June 28.

The Cadent team included several former soldiers, who joined the UK’s largest gas distribution network after years of military service – and now help Cadent keep gas flowing safely to millions of homes and industries in North West England.

“We’re incredibly proud of our colleagues who have served or continue to serve in the Armed Forces as Reservists,” said Nick Jerman, Head of Safety and Engineering (North West) at Cadent.
“Our visit to 75 Engineer Regiment was a meaningful way to honour their contributions and strengthen our ongoing partnership with the military.”
Cadent, which has an operations base in Winwick Road, has signed the UK Armed Forces Covenant, pledging to support members of the Armed Forces community.
The company also holds the Ministry of Defence’s prestigious Gold Employer Recognition Award, which acknowledges its support for veterans, reservists, and military families.
Among the visitors this week to 75 Engineer Regiment’s HQ at Peninsula Barracks, O’Leary Street, Warrington, were members of Cadent Military Community. This is one of seven employee-led groups that exist within the gas distribution network, each designed to foster inclusivity and celebrate diversity across the organisation.

Armed Forces Day, celebrated annually across the UK, recognises the dedication and sacrifice of service personnel past and present. Cadent’s engagement with 75 Engineer Regiment reflects its deep respect and appreciation for the Armed Forces and its commitment to being a supportive employer for those who serve.
Cadent maintains a network of more than 21,000 miles of underground gas pipelines in North West England, as well as hundreds of above-ground pressure management facilities. This network distributes gas, 24 hours a day, 365 days-a-year, to millions of homes, as well as hospitals, schools, offices, industry and power generation sites.
The British Army’s military engineer reserve regiment, 75 Engineer Regiment supports operations overseas by providing light role, close support military engineering to 4 Light Brigade Combat Team.
