Up to six weeks of road closures confirmed for resurfacing works in Farrell Street area

A number of road closures have been confirmed for up to six weeks in the Farrell Street area of Warrington for resurfacing works from Monday, (June 30).

The closures will also see the temporary suspension of a one-way order on St. Katherines Way, with works scheduled to start on June 30th between the hours of 7 pm to 1 am in a bid to minimise traffic disruption.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be as follows: –
Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: Farrell Street from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Howley Lane; Ellesmere Street from its junction with Farrell Street for 25 metres; Egerton Street from its junction with Farrell Street for 25 metres; St. Elphins Close from its junction with Farrell Street for 25 metres.
Temporary Suspension of The Borough of Warrington (St. Katherines Way, Warrington) (One-Way) Order 2017 in its entirety.
The Order will be effective from 30th June 2025. The restrictions are for a period of 6 weeks, between 7 pm and 1 am, however, will be in place as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Church Street, Manchester Road, Kingsway North and vice versa. The restrictions are required for carriageway resurfacing.
