THE M6 southbound at Warrington was closed at rush hour, Thursday, due to a van fire.
The incident was between Junction 21, Warrington and Junction 20, Manchester Airport.
Delays of 45 minutes and five miles of tailbacks were reported. Traffic backed up to junction 22 at Winwick.
The event has now cleared.
