CONGESTION of five miles was reported on the M62 at Birchwood this morning following a multi-vehicle collision.
There were delays of around 45 minutes, with congestion extending up to five miles, following the collision between Junctions 11 and 12 eastbound.
Two of four lanes were closed during recovery, although this was reduced to one.
Traffic remained heavy, and drivers were warned to allow extra time for their journeys.
