A second vehicle fire on the motorway network near Warrington caused further delays this afternoon, Tuesday on the M62 near Winwick.
Following on from the incident this morning on the M6 Thelwall Viaduct, fire crews were this afternoon called out to reports of a vehicle fire on M62 East, between junctions 10 and 11 at 15:35.
Three fire crews from Warrington, Birchwood and Lymm attended the scene.
A vehicle that was well alight on a motorway slip road required firefighters to attend and extinguish it with a hose reel. Three lanes of the motorway were closed while the incident was dealt with, leaving only lane four open. Crews also cooled two camping gas cylinders with water as a precaution.
