DESPITE a narrow by-election defeat after a recount at Great Sankey North & Whittle Hall the Warrington Reform UK branch says they are not downhearted.

Although defeated by just 30 votes Carl Knapper, the Reform candidate, said: “Given that we had only around four weeks to prepare, securing second place is a commendable achievement and a true reflection of the hard work, commitment of our entire Reform team.
“I also wish to extend my gratitude to the voters of Great Sankey North & Whittle Hall who voted for me and Reform UK. We came exceptionally close to unseating Labour, and while the result is undoubtedly difficult, it is a shared disappointment for everyone who believed in our message and stood behind our campaign. Warrington and indeed the country need Reform UK”.
The party says it will contest all future by-elections and will field a full slate of candidates in three years’ time when the whole council is up for re-election.
Local Branch Chair, Jan Balfe: “The amazing results around the country in traditional Labour areas show that Reform can win in Warrington, we’ve only just begun.”
