A TOTAL of five fire engines were called out when a fire broke out involving hedgerows in Warrington.
The blaze was in Weir Lane, Woolston on Sunday afternoon and three fire engines from Lymm, Warrington and Penketh, together with two from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, were went to the scene.
Firefighters set up a water relay with two portable pumps and used two hose reel jets, two water backpacks and beaters to extinguish the fire.
The cause has not been revealed.
Later, another fire was reported in the open in Thelwall Lane, Warrington.
One fire engine from Stockton Heath was sent to the scene and the crew extinguished the blaze using a hose reel jet.
