A road closure for up to two weeks comes into force at Culcheth next week for gas main replacement works.
The closure will take place on Shaw Street, Culcheth from its junction with Walton Road and its junction with Church Lane.
Warrington Borough Council has give notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Shaw Street from its junction with Walton Road to its junction with Church Lane.
The Order will be effective from 10th March 2025. The closure is for a period of 2 weeks, however, will be in place as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
The alternative route will be via Walton Road, Church Lane and vice versa. The closure is required to allow Cadent Gas main replacement works.
Meanwhile, starting at the same time, there will be a three day closure on Wellfield Road, Culcheth.
There will be a prohibition of driving on Wellfield Road from its junction with Kirkby Road to its junction with Ellesmere Road.
The Order will be effective from 10th March 2025. The closure is for a period of 3 days, however, will be in place as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Kirkby Road, Lodge Drive, Common Lane, Twiss Green Lane and vice versa. The closure is required to allow United Utilities to install a new water connection.
