Man arrested following XL Bully dog attack

Detectives investigating an incident in Warrington when an 84-year-old man was savagely attacked during a XL Bully Dog incident have now arrested a man in relation to the incident.

The 30-year-old man was arrested earlier today (Wednesday ) following an incident on Monday 24 February where an 84-year-old man was attacked on Bardsley Avenue by a dog which had escaped from a nearby address.
The dog, believed to be an XL Bully, attacked the pensioner in the garden causing life changing injuries; he remains in hospital where his condition is described as critical.
The 30-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a dog dangerously out of control causing serious injury. He is currently being held in police custody assisting officers with their enquiries.
A 29-year-old woman who was arrested as part of the investigation has now been released on conditional bail
