Shameless Valentine’s Balloon thief shows “real act of love”

A VALENTINE balloon thief was captured on CCTV shamelessly removing a Lymm restaurant’s huge heart-shaped balloon.

The balloon’s removal without asking was captured on camera in Lymm village as a couple and their two dogs walked through the centre carrying what appears to be a takeaway pizza.

The woman pauses as the man spots the Valentine’s balloon display outside Chia Tapas Bar late on Friday night at around 11.40pm, unties a large pink balloon and walks off.
It prompted a raft of comments and jokey memes about police searching for the thief.

Chia Tapas Bar wrote on Love Lymm Locals Facebook page:

“Well, looks like Chia’s giant heart balloon found a new owner… without asking first! 💔 We hope it’s spreading love wherever it goes, but next time, a little courtesy wouldn’t hurt! 🎈 #ChiaHeartStolen #BalloonGoneWild” #NextTimeAskFirst ❤️Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️”
One poster wrote: “A real act of love right there!”

Another said: “That’s embarrassing!’ While writing on Facebook, a third said: “That’s absolutely shocking. Classed as theft so I’d report that tbh. Ask the takeout place if they have a more clear shot of his face from their camera.”
Others said they’d spotted it tied to the outside of a canal boat in the village.
The joke memes were still running on Sunday morning as a photoshopped picture of a canal boat floating into the sky with giant heart-shaped balloons was posted on the village Love Lymm Locals page.
There were posts with world leaders such as Donald Trump and Putin on a mocked up Ring camera picture holding the balloon.
Another had a post with a picture of a heart-shaped balloon with: “I’ve just seen the cover art for True Detective season five, looks exciting.”
