CELEBRATIONS for Chinese Lunar New Year will be taking place in Warrington this weekend and this year is the Year of the Snake.
Events have already been held in Manchester city centre – which has a Chinatown – last weekend to mark the new year.
A parade was held in the city centre.
Warrington, which has a smaller population of people of Chinese heritage, will host its own events in the town centre. There will be two days of performances, workshops and activities for all ages.

The activities will focus on Golden Square, Warrington Market, Time Square and Warrington Museum and Art Gallery as well as Warrington Library.
The events begin with a family focused day of activities at Warrington Central Library and the Warrington Museum and Art Gallery between 11am and 2pm.
